On your wedding day, would you not want your skin and make-up to glow? It is every woman’s dream to look her best on her wedding. Bridal make up is one of the key elements to watch out for on your wedding day, because, if you make a slight mistake in any of these areas, it can spoil your look completely and make you look like a disaster.

Missing out on foundation

Foundation is one of the most under-rated yet one of the most important aspects of bridal make-up. On your most important day, if you want to look glowing, one of the first mistakes you have to avoid is skipping your foundation. There are many benefits that you get by applying foundation:

  •   Your skin looks tight and presentable all through the function
  •   Your make-up stays firm
  •   You get an extra glow while pictures are being taken

Another mistake to avoid is to apply foundation on skin directly. Always ensure that you moisturise your skin properly and then apply foundation on top of it.

Timing of trimming eyebrows

How would you feel if you wake up on your wedding day with your forehead full of rashes and irritation? Terrible, isn’t it? This is probably because you waited until the last minute to get your eyebrows trimmed. This is the mistake most of the brides commit today. Always ensure that you trim your eyebrows at least 4 to 5 days prior to your wedding, so that you give yourself time to heal and look great on your wedding day.

Not choosing a professional

Brides or their families make the mistake of outsourcing make-up related matters to their close friends or relatives, without checking if the concerned people are actual professionals or not. This is a grave blunder as you run the risk of spoiling your look on your D-Day. Hence, it is always recommended that you choose a well-known make-up artist in your area to take care of all these arrangements. This way, you can be relaxed as you have entrusted the responsibilities to an expert.

Focussing only the face

Make –up is not limited to your face alone. As a bride, you need to be glowing all over. Therefore, it wouldn’t hurt to take care of your hands, collarbones and back. Scrub, wax and highlight these areas with adequate amount of make-up powder, so that you don’t look odd.

Not using waterproof make-up

Since it is one of the most important days of your life, your wedding day can be quite an emotional experience for you.  Tears are inevitable; therefore ensure that you wear waterproof make-up so that it doesn’t wear off when you cry, making you look out of place.

Not giving enough time for makeup to dry

This is one of the most common mistakes that brides commit today. When you hurry up on applying make –up, you are doing a blunder, as any make up tends to last longer only if you give it ample time to dry at every stage.
